Abstract

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease that caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium
tuberculosis. Number of diagnosed cases Tuberculosis lung disease in Southeast Sulawesi in 2021
as many as 3,008 patients. South Konawe Regency is one of the districts with cases of
Tuberculosis mostly in Southeast Sulawesi. In 2020, the incidence rate Tuberculosis in South
Konawe Regency, which was 43 cases, in 2021 there was a very high increase in TB patients by
127 cases. This community service is one of our group's roles in the Hospital Health Counseling II
course which aims to increase knowledge and understanding of the community by informing and
educating the community as an effort to prevent pulmonary tuberculosis. The activity carried out
by this service is health education about the prevention of pulmonary tuberculosis. The methods
used were lectures and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) which were conducted before and after the
extension to determine the success of the extension. The event will take place on October 22, 2022.
From the results of community activities, 90% of the 31 people who attended the counseling knew
about Pulmonary Tuberculosis, and 80% understood how to prevent and treat Pulmonary
Tuberculosis. The results of the service using the lecture method and focus group discussion (FGD)
can increase people's knowledge in Lakala Village, South Palangga District, South Konawe
Regency.
