Abstract

Breastfeeding in infants is greatly influenced by milk expenditure in postpartum mothers. In an effort to release breast milk, there are two things that influence, namely production and expenditure. Breast milk production is influenced by the hormone prolactin while production is influenced by the hormone oxytocin. Some factors that affect breast milk expenditure include baby suction during breastfeeding, a sense of comfort from breastfeeding mothers, lactation massage, husband and family support and a good psychological condition of breastfeeding mothers. Semi-empirical research that takes a quantitative approach. The trial used a pseudo-study design with at least two experimental groups from the treated sample and one control group. The researchers wanted to investigate how lactation massage affected mothers' milk production after childbirth in this study. The design of this study was a "pre-trial control group design" because it used experimental techniques. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that lactation massage can increase postpartum breast milk expenditure in the working area of the Ladongi Jaya Health Center, East Kolaka regency with p values of 0.006 < 0.05. The results of the mann whitney test analysis found that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, so that there was an effect of lactation massage on postpartum breast milk production in the working area of the Ladongi Jaya Health Center, East Kolaka
