Abstract

Medical-records clerks are able to manage medical records and health information to fulfil the need in medical service, administration, and health information used for making decisions in health field. At Bahtermas General Hospital and Kendari City Hospital, everyday there are delays in the distribution of medical records to the service unit. To analyze the correlation between motivation factor and hygiene factor on the performance of medical record clerks. The method used in this research is mixed method. Quantitative research (cross sectional) is applied to find out the correlation between motivation factor and hygiene factor on the performance of medical-records clerks. Quantitative research explores performance to deepen the performance of medical-records clerks. The quantitative samples consist of 39 respondents and the qualitative samples consist of 6 informants. The results of 28 respondents (71.8%) of motivation factor is in good category and p=0.037 (p<0.05). 35 respondents (89.7%) of hygiene factor is in good category and p=0.871 (p>0.05). Motivation factor has expB 4.800=4.8 x bigger than hygiene factor correlation. 21 respondents (53.8%) have high performance. Informants’ statement based on the five factors of performance shows that medical-records clerks have high performance. Most of medical-record clerks have high performance. Motivation has correlation with performance and has statistical meaning. Hygiene factor has correlation but has no statistical meaning.
