FORMULASI SALEP EKSTRAK KLIKA KATUK (SAUROPUS ANDROGYNUS L MERR) SEBAGAI PENGHAMBAT STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS

Abstract

Klika Katuk (Sauropus androgynus L.MERR) contains tannins, flavonoid saponins, and alkaloids that have antibacterial effects. Staphylococcus aureus can cause diseases such as infections of the hair follicles and sweat glands, ulcers, and infections of wounds. Research Objectives: This study aimed to determine the inhibition of Klika Katuk (Sauropus androgynus L. MERR) against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus which was formulated in the form of an ointment. Research Results: By applying the diffusion method during the incubation period of 1 x 24 hours at 37oC, Formula I (10%) obtained inhibition values of 12.7 mm, 15% (16 mm), 20% (21.1 mm), control negative (0 mm), and positive control (25.1 mm). Conclusion: Klika Katuk (Sauropus androgynus L. MERR) extract ointment formula has the ability to inhibit Stapylococcus aureus disease. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) showed value (significant). Newman-Keuls analysis for all concentrations also obtained significant results.
