Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is one of the infectious diseases caused by the Aedes
aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. The aedes aegypti mosquito is the mosquito that plays the
most role in the spread of dengue fever because it lives in and around the house, while the aedes
albopictus mosquito lives in the garden, so it rarely comes into contact with humans. This service
aims to determine changes in public health promotion behavior in relation to the impact of DHF.
Activities are carried out in three segments. This activity is packaged in a talkshow format with the
first material covering the definition of dengue, the causes of dengue, the mode of transmission, the
characteristics of the aedes aegypti mosquito, exposure to dengue fever, mosquito reproduction. The
website and PSN were also given a pre-test to participants before the material was delivered, the
results of which showed awareness of DHF by 5%. The second segment contains an explanation of
natural DHF prevention solutions using natural ingredients found in the environment, and the third
segment distributes follow-up tests to the public as additional information after counseling. And the
results of the post-test given show that 90% understand DHF and how to avoid it. Behavioral factors
that can affect the prevalence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in endemic areas of Marga
Cinta Village are emptying water tanks, closing water tanks, burial of used goods, sowing abate
bubu, hanging clothes, frequency of emptying containers > 1 week, habit of using insect repellent,
Good PHBS and some good ways to prevent DHF.
